Drake Introduces “First Girlfriend Ever” Keshia Chanté At OVO Fest

Drake took his OVO Fest fans on a stroll down memory lane last week, introducing them to his very first girlfriend, Keshia Chanté.

The 35-year-old rapper addressed the crowd in Toronto on Thursday July 28th, making a personalized introduction for “KiKi”, aka Keshia, at his 3-day annual music festival. Keshia Chanté, 34, a singer from the area, performed her songs “Unpredictable” and “Shook” for Drake fans while the star stood stage left, in the distance.

Footage from the sentimental moment has since been shared online by Keshia, who wrote to Drake, “Aubs I love u for life.” In the clip, Drake describes Chanté as the “first girlfriend” he ever had in his life.

“This next person coming to the stage, I used to get in my mom’s car, and I used to drive all the way to the west for this one right here, you feel me? So I have to personally introduce her,” Drake said ahead of the TV personality’s set. “This is my first girlfriend I ever had in my life,” the OVO rapper added.

Keshia Chanté Compliments Drake, “It’s The Braids For Me, Papi”

Keshia and Drake seem to still have some chemistry between them, with the former teen loves appearing the flatter each other on stage. After Drake gave his ex a heartfelt introduction, Keshia flattered the rapper, complimenting his new braids in the middle of her show.

“It’s the braids for me, Papi. Don’t he look good with braids tho?”

Keshia, a former host on BET’s ‘106 and Park‘, was previously engaged to former NHL star Ray Emery before the two split ways. Chante and Emery dated for seven years starting in June 2010. The former couple was engaged to wed but called off the nuptials after allegations of domestic abuse.

In July 2018, Emery died in an apparent drowning according to TMZ.

Earlier in the night, Aubrey brought out Grammy Award winner Nelly Furtado. The Canadian singer performed hits like “Promiscuous” and “Turn Off The Light.”

Drake also joined Nelly on stage to join her in singing “I’m Like A Bird.”
