Dreezy Shows Love To Female Lyricists On Her Twitter

Within the music industry, artists are constantly compared to each other in the name of deeming who is the best and who is not quite there yet. So, the moments when we see artists uplifting each other are moments to highlight.

On Monday afternoon, Seandrea Sledge, who goes by her stage name Dreezy, published a series of tweets praising lyrical female rappers. The rapper, singer, songwriter began the first tweet with the words “lyrical female rappers appreciation tweet.” She continued on and wrote “just cus the ppl sleep”seemingly citing her reason for putting out the tweets.

In the first tweet, Dreezy lists the following artists: Rapsody, Chika, Lady London, Omeretta, Tierra Whack, No Name, Young M.A. and Snow Tha Product. She also includes her own name “Dreezy” at the end of that first list and encourages readers to “add to the list” to “put somebody on today.”

In a follow-up tweet, Dreezy explained how she chose the names on the list.

“It’s so many other girls, I’m just kicking the list off of people who not mainstream,” she wrote.

Dreezy then continued the list in a second tweet that was published a little over 30 minutes after the first. She added CupcaKKe, Lakeyah, BIA, Tokyo Jetz and Melii.

A few of the mentioned artists took to their own Twitter accounts to respond to Dreezy.

Rapper Lakeyah responded by quoting Dreezy’s tweet with her name.

They say real rap dying? We gon keep it alive,” Lakeyah said along with the up arrow and 100% emojis.

Tierra Whack took Dreezy’s advice in the first tweet and added to the list with a quoted tweet. Tierra’s list included: Rocky, Chainz, Joie Kathos, Bri Steves, Jade, Chynna, Lena L, Phresh Princess, Lee Mazin, T Marie and LG.

Snow Tha Product thanked Dreezy for the mention and complimented her by saying “u the sh*t.”

Dreezy made headlines in February when she confirmed the end of her relationship with R& B singer Jacquees.
