Bryshere Gray, known from the popular former television series ‘Empire,’ has been charged with assault and battery following an incident in Virginia.

More Details On Bryshere Gray Reportedly Being Charged With Assault & Battery Following Virginia Incident

According to Wavy.com, Gray is facing charges of assault and battery in Chesapeake, Virginia. The charges were taken out by a private citizen named Dustin Wilkins. Per the outlet, Wilkins is also known as Chosen Wilkins.

Additionally, Wilkins is a friend of Gray’s and says he and the actor had an argument on Friday, June 13. The incident reportedly occurred at Homewood Suites and resulted in Gray allegedly “charg[ing] him from behind a car during the altercation.”

“As I was explaining to him that he cant just leave without paying, adding you have enough problemsI am trying to save your life. He then charged towards me from around the car. Charged into me with his shoulderand fighting me as I was recording the incident over the phonea blunt blow into me and punching me,” Wilkins noted, per the misdemeanor arrest warrant.

In an interview with the outlet’s Andy Fox, Wilkins noted Gray’s mental health.

“Something took place in a mental health aspect. I can not disclose what happened, I can not disclose the details of that. All I can tell you is Bryshere is a friend, hes like my brother. He is just someone who is dealing with some very interesting mental health issues… Bryshere doesnt need to be in jail. He wouldnt survive in jail. He needs mental help,” Wilkins explained.

Per the outlet, police did not arrest Gray. However, TMZ reports that Gray was arrested on Sunday, June 15, but bonded out, with assistance from Wilkins.

Gray is expected to appear for his arraignment on Wednesday, June 18.

Meanwhile, Wilkins has also taken to his Instagram Story to share footage alongide Gray with a short message:
“Please understand that people make mistakes and we all do! You don’t leave your brother in a bind when they are going through enough. You have to always help them in the end… Stop trying to bring someone down and drawing narratives that doesn’t exist. Still BFF!”

Before Bryshere Gray Caught Charges In Virginia, He Was Involved In An Incident In Florida

Before the incident involving Bryshere Gray in Chesapeake, Virginia, he was involved in an incident in Florida. As The Shade Room previously reported, in July 2024, Gray was arrested in Florida. Additionally, he was charged with “trespassing unoccupied structure or conveyance.” Subsequently, his bond was set at $150.

A few days later, Gray was released from custody, returning to social media.
