Eric Reid Talks About Jay-Z Allegedly Becoming A Part Owner Of An NFL Team

There has been a lot going on after it was announced earlier this week that Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and the NFL have joined together for a partnership. Many people have shared their thoughts on the latest venture, and it’s safe to say not everyone was pleased.

Yesterday, it was announced that Jay-Z is allegedly set to become part-owner of an NFL team, which has also received mixed reactions.

Eric Reid talked with reporters Friday night, following the Carolina Panthers preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. When asked about his thoughts on Jay-Z becoming part-owner of a team he said, “Jay-Z claimed to be a supporter of Colin — wore his jersey, told people not to perform at the Super Bowl because of the treatment that the NFL did to Colin, and now he’s going to be a part-owner … it’s kind of despicable.”

When another reporter asked if he would consider Jay-Z a sellout, Eric responded and said, “It’s approaching that. If Jay-Z is going to be an owner, is Colin going to be signed the day he becomes the owner of the team? We’ll see!”

He continued, I think he has a very small window, with an ownership position, to make a move to get Colin on the field on whatever teams he’s on, very small window.”

As we previously mentioned, Eric joined his former teammate Colin Kaepernick during his silent protest when they were both still a part of the San Francisco 49ers. Although Colin wasn’t signed to another team, Eric received an offer from the Panthers last September to a one-year deal.

Last month, during an interview with the Charlotte Observer, Eric vowed to continue the silent protest by continuing to kneel during the National Anthem.

Roommates, what are your thoughts?
