Eva Marcille had fans doing a double-take after she dropped footage of her linking up with her ex-husband, Michael Sterling, at the 2025 Essence Fest. The clip sees Eva and Michael looking all cozy and giddy while out in New Orleans. Let’s get into it!
Eva Marcille had the internet SHOOK when she uploaded a video on Instagram showing her chilling with her ex, Michael Sterling, at Essence Fest. In the clip, Eva smiles from ear to ear, saying, “Happy Essence!” Then she flips the camera to Michael, who flashes a big smile. Next thing you know, Eva comfortably rests her head on Michael’s shoulder.
Fans immediately started asking, “What’s Tea?”and wondered if the video was a confirmation that they’re back together. Eva and Michael previously finalized their divorce in 2023 after four years of marriage. Eva didn’t help the speculation either, captioning the post, “Happy Essence! Im floating soft launch #ganggang”
Chile, the Roomies were all here for Michael Sterling and Eva Marcille’s lil’ link-up. Several folks straight up said they wouldn’t be mad if the couple decided to spin the block and give their relationship another shot. Peep some of the reactions under The Shade Room’s post below.

As of right now, there’s no word on whether Eva and Michael are officially back together. However, their reunion at Essence Fest comes after they previously filed for divorce in 2023. PEOPLE says the former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ winner and the lawyer called their relationship “irretrievably broken” in court docs. Back then, Eva told PEOPLE their split was tough, but they were focusing on putting their kids first.
“This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting. Our children remain our biggest priority and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time,” Eva explained.
Eva and Michael tied the knot in 2018 and share two kids, Michael Sterling Jr. and Maverick Sterling. Eva also has a daughter, Marley Rae, from her previous relationship with Kevin McCall.
