One time for the ladies! Eve and Trina will be the next Verzuz battle and theyre about to rep hard for the female emcees!
The new Verzuz lineup, which dropped Wednesday night, shows Eve and Trina are set to go head-to-head on June 16th, getting the ball rolling for the June battles. Bow Wow and Soulja Boys much touted battle will follow 10 days later on June 26.
A third battle was announced slated for July 1, ahead Fourth of July holiday weekend, in partnership with Essence Fest, which is returning after much anticipation since being canceled last year due to Covid. But the who in the battle remains a mystery as the reveal will likely come closer to the battle date.
As far as the ladies go, Eve and Trina will be the first two female rappers to battle on the Verzuz platform, though Tina previously battled her good friend and confidante Trick Daddy in an unrelated battle.
Many wondered if the matchup made sense, considering the two rappers individual styles. While Eves career is a bit more eclectic, running the gamut from gangster rap to songs that topped the pop charts, Trinas style is more focused on the hypersexualized side of female hip hop.
Both ladies have certainly left their mark on the rap landscape but the Roommates had mixed reactions to the announcement.
