Evelyn Lozada Says She Was Offended When She Was Told By A ‘Basketball Wives’ Cast Member That She Thinks She’s Black: ‘I’m Afro Latina’

The topic of race and identification, especially in the Latinx community, has been a hot topic lately and now Evelyn Lozada is the latest celebrity to address it.

Evelyn revealed that on this season of Basketball Wives she was told by another cast member “B***h, you think you black,” and that statement apparently rubbed Evelyn the wrong way.

“I’ve never had anybody tell me that,” Evelyn told Justin Sylvester, host of E! News’ “Just the Sip”. “And I was so offended because I didn’t know what that meant.”

Evelyn continued to say that she’s proud of her Puerto Rican heritage and growing up in New York. She said that she’s traced her roots and that she identifies as Afro Latina. “I’ve done DNA tests just to know but I want to tap into that more.”

This season of “Basketball Wives” has been an explosive one. Evelyn has been at odds with several cast members but her beef with OG has taken front and center.

OG has accused of Evelyn of being racially insensitive toward Black women on social media. While Evelyn doesn’t seem to address much of OG’s claims, they reportedly did not shoot this season’s reunion together.

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this one? Let us know!
