The federal criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs has kicked off at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse in New York City. In case you missed it, on September 16, 2024, Diddy was arrested by Homeland Security while staying in New York. At the time, details remained scarce about his arrest. However, it was reported that he was taken into custody in connection with an ongoing sex trafficking investigation, per The Shade Room. More Details On Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Initial Indictment

On September 17, 2024, Diddy’s initial federal charges were revealed to the world, per The Shade Room. At the time, NBC News reported that he was charged with “three felony counts.” These included “racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.”

Furthermore, that same day, Diddy’s federal indictment was unsealed. Per The Shade Room, the 14-page document accused Diddy of “abus[ing], threaten[ing], and coerc[ing] women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct…”

Additionally, the indictment accused Combs of using his business enterprise to “engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”

More specifically, the indictment asserted that Combs “manipulated” women into “highly orchestrated performances of sexual activity with male commercial sex workers.” These instances were reportedly referred to as “Freak Offs,” which allegedly included the forced use of narcotics. Lastly, the indictment accused Diddy of “assault[ing] women by, among other things, striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects at, and kicking them.”

Ultimately, it was alleged that Diddy’s alleged actions were covered up by his employees, and occurred between 2009-2024.

Diddy’s Updated Federal Charges, As Of May 12

In January, reports surfaced that Diddy was hit with a superseding indictment in the federal case. At the time, it was reported that the original indictment was amended to include two additional victims, “Victim 2” and “Victim 3.” These two individuals would reportedly join Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in the abuse claims against Diddy.

Additionally, the updated indictment amended the initial, asserting Diddy’s alleged criminal behavior began in 2004.

As of Monday, May 12, Diddy’s federal charges now include one charge of racketeering conspiracy, two charges of sex trafficking on two counts, and two charges of transportation for prostitution. Most recently, another victim was added to the case. Additionally, the 55-year-old reportedly turned down a plea deal in connection with the charges.

Who’s Expected To Testify?

According to Al Jazeera, all four women are expected to testify amid Diddy’s trial. Additionally, former employees of his, “former business associates and law enforcement officers,” are also reportedly expected to take the stand.

Per CBS News, the 55-year-old’s case is expected to last eight to 10 weeks.
