Exclusive: ‘Married To Medicine’ Star Dr. Heavenly Kimes Gives Us The Tea About The Upcoming Season, Filming During The Pandemic & More!

Roommates, Bravo’s long-running hit reality series “Married To Medicine” is finally coming back with a brand new season—and to get ya’ll ready for what’s to come, we caught up with one of the show’s cast members, Dr. Heavenly Kimes. A lot has happened since we caught up with our favorite Atlanta doctors and Dr. Heavenly stepped into The Shade Room to give us the tea before the season premiere on March 7th!

From the #BlackLivesMatter protests in Atlanta last summer, original cast members leaving the show and the daunting task of filming during the COVID-19 pandemic—the ladies of “Married To Medicine” are taking fans along for a wild ride this season and we thought that there is no one better to let us know what’s in store than Dr. Heavenly.

“Married To Medicine” has been one of Bravo’s consistent hits, and while she couldn’t tell us much, Dr. Heavenly did speak about the absence of original cast members of Quad Webb-Lunceford and Mariah Huq this season, as well as what the remaining cast has in store for us this season:

“This season is very different as a whole on many levels with the pandemic and social justice movements. We did get to hang out with Quad, so you will have to wait and see. We have a great season in store for everyone.

We are real …we give a lot  of ourselves and what’s going on in our lives. We are all very educated,  married, and have children, and we are really friends which is an important part about our group.”

When we asked her if the #BlackLivesMatter protests in Atlanta would be covered similarly to how it was shown on #RHOA, Dr. Heavenly confirmed, saying “Yes, you will see us contributing to many different aspects of BLM.  Including voters registration, COVID testing and fundraisers.” She further elaborated on how she and her husband Dr. Damon have been talking to their three children about the issues facing the Black community. “Of course, Damon and I have had intense conversations both together and separately with all our children. We also encouraged them to vote and that their voices matter,” she said.

A few weeks ago when Bravo released the cast photos for the upcoming 8th season, many fans couldn’t help but notice how snatched Dr. Heavenly looked. So naturally we had to ask her about her inspiring weight loss and fitness journey. “Yes, my weight loss has always been a constant journey ….I also had a lot of help with make-up, styling, and a new hairstylist,” she explained.

You can catch up with the Atlanta ladies of “Married To Medicine” when the show premieres on March 7th at 9PM on Bravo!
