According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the Atlanta Police Department asserted that a woman called authorities. This, to report a domestic incident. Around 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, authorities arrived at a Buckhead apartment complex and interviewed the caller and an unidentified man. Per the outlet, at some point during the interview, the man left the police to go to the apartment’s parking lot to speak with his father. CBS News adds that the incident occurred at the Pharr Apartments.

At some point, officers reported hearing gunshots and went to the lot to see what had happened. There, officers found that the man had been shot by his father, Duranter Tolliver.

Per the outlet, authorities believe Tolliver and his son had gotten into an argument. Additionally, they asserted that Tolliver fired at least five shots at his son. At this point, Tolliver has been charged with “murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.” Per CBS News, Tolliver’s son was 32 years old.

Additionally, the outlet asserts that the investigation into the fatal incident remains ongoing.

As The Shade Room previously reported, on Wednesday, October 29, Sean Grayson was convicted of second-degree murder in the 2024 incident involving Sonya Massey. In July of that year, Grayson and his partner were called to her home after she suspected an intruder was present. While there, Grayson and his partner determined Massey was “unwell.” However, he proceeded to shoot her three times while she stood at her stove near a pot of boiling water.

During the trial, Grayson asserted that he felt threatened by Massey.
