Flau’jae Drops New Album

According to TMZ, Johnson released her new album, ‘Best of Both Worlds’ on Friday, June 28th. The outlet reports that the nine-track album includes collaborations with rappers Wayne, NLE Choppa, and 2Rare.

Flau’jae’s new single with Lil Wayne, ‘Came Out A Beast,’ marks their first collaboration. Complex reports that the basketball star and rap legend spit verses over Dolla Baby’s production, rapping about embracing beast mode and their roots.

During her interview with Complex, the athlete expressed gratitude for working with Wayne, citing how the collaboration motivated her to enhance her rap skills.

“Working with Lil Wayne on ‘Came Out a Beast’ was a surreal experience. His energy and talent pushed me to new heights.”

Per Fox 8 Live, Flau’jae’s 3-minute track with Lil Wayne references her national championship win and includes a shout-out to her former teammate, Angel Reese.

TMZ disclosed that the LSU guard had long desired to collaborate with Wayne. She expressed interest in a song with the legendary spitter last year, and they finally met at the 2023 Essence Festival months later.

Flau’jae stated in a Complex press release that her latest project integrates her skills in both rap and basketball.

“I’ve love combining my two talents. ‘Best of Both Worlds’ shows you don’t have to choose one pathyou can excel in multiple arenas. This project reflects who I am a basketball player, a rapper, and someone who refuses to be put in a box. I hope my fans can feel the passion and dedication I’ve poured into every song,” Flau’jae said.

Details On Johnson’s Rap Career

Flau’jae has fully embraced the music industry since 2019, releasing projects and securing a deal with Roc Nation alongside her growing basketball career. In May 2017, she dropped her first single, ‘Why Dey Hatin.’

However, in 2023, she officially made her mark in the music by releasing her first EP, ‘4 My Fans.’ The project holds thirteen tracks and features with artists GoJuney and Skooly.
