The 19-year-old teen stiffed 30 people into believing they were not only applying and interviewing for a legit job, but also into believing they were hired as well.
Washington made up a fictitious company called “Howard Enterprises” and posted the nonexistent job online claiming to be looking to hire 1100 people. He even went the extra mile to make sure his fake business looked legit by renting out a temporary office space. The applicants didn’t know that he was just trying to steal folks money, info, and urine samples! Yes, crazy as hell!
This dude was so convincing in his schemes that he was able to get social security numbers, direct deposit information, urine samples and a $25 application fee. I mean….Damn!
The really messed up part is some people actually quit their jobs when he gave them the fictitious job offer and now have to face looking for a new job in addition to identify theft.
Washington was charged with one count of Criminal Use of Personal Identification Information (20 or more), a first-degree felony, and one count of Organized Communications Fraud, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Be careful out there guys and research as much as you can so you don’t end up in a situation like this! Some people ain’t Shi*!
