Florida Prosecutors Dismiss Kodak Black’s Trespassing Case

Roommates, Kodak Black, is a busy man. He is waiting on the arrival of his baby girl, has a new artist, and has one of the hottest songs out right now. Although he is booked and busy, his heavy load just got a little lighter as he doesn’t have to worry about his recent legal issues. If you recall, the Florida rapper was charged in a trespassing incident that occurred on New Year’s Day after he was arrested at the Golden Acres public housing development in Pompano Beach.

According to Rolling Stone, Broward County prosecutors decline the case on Wednesday, says Kodak’s lawyer Bradford Cohen. Bradford advised his client was visiting with family when he was unfortunately detained while standing near his Lamborghini parked in a driveway. At the time of the arrest, information was limited. However, Bradford provided more context.

He detailed that the Broward County sheriff’s deputy’s arresting officer took Kodak, born Bill Kapri, into custody, citing a cease and desist letter that housing officials issued four months ago. This was in response to Kodak delivering air conditioning units to housing development residents last summer. Bradford is standing ten toes beside Kodak!

The lawyer said, “Its basic law that a cease and desist letter is not the same as a trespass notice, and either way, the letter was sent to Kapri’s label, not the rapper himself.” In addition, he argued that Kodak was invited to the property by a resident and explained a landlord can’t trespass on an individual that was invited by a person paying rent.

During the incident, Kodak posted bond, and his Lamborghini was towed. “I think they arrested so they could search him and search his vehicle that was legally parked and try to find something that was a bigger charge than trespassing,” Bradford revealed to Rolling Stone. “I think it was embarrassing that they ended up arresting him for trespass, and the case was never filed on because there was no probable cause to make the arrest.”
