Man Climbs Off Roller Coaster After Safety Bar Malfunctions

A man in Arizona climbed out of his seat on a roller coaster ride after his safety bar malfunctioned

and unlatched back in 2024, as The Shade Room previously reported.

The man was in Phoenix at the Castles N’ Coasters amusement park riding the Desert Storm roller coaster, and footage showed him climbing off the rollercoaster as it moved.

All of the sudden, the man noticed his lap bar was unlatched. As soon as he noticed, he jumped out in the nick of time, as the ride had already begun moving.

“We start the climb, and you hear the click of the chain of the normal roller coaster,” the man said. We get just about to the top and I hear a click different from the click of the chain taking us up and so, I checked my lap bar one last time and it released….I had mere seconds to act on whether I stayed on or got off.”

Furthermore, video showed him climbing down the roller coaster catwalk as the ride continued. Additionally, the rideÙs operator never noticed the man until he reached the ground.
