Former MMA Fighter War Machine Sentenced To Life For Kidnapping

A career that seemed so promising was lost in the blink of a second due to this man’s cowardly move. Former mixed martial arts fighter Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver, also known as the War Machine, has been sentenced to life in prison after he was found guilty of kidnapping, sexually assaulting and beating his ex-girlfriend back in 2014.

According to The Guardian, a Las Vegas jury convicted Koppenhaver in March of 29 felonies after he attacked his ex-girlfriend Christy Mack and her male friend Corey Thomas after finding them in the bedroom together. Mack claimed her life will be at danger and fears she will lose her life if her ex-boyfriend is released. In the hands of Koppenhaver, she suffered a lacerated liver, broken rib and lost two teeth during the assault

Koppenhaver, 35, said, “I should have killed myself by now. There’s no reason right now that I shouldn’t be in the dirt right now laying next to Aaron Hernandez. That’s 100% true,” he said in his statement.

Ironically, Koppenhaver revealed that this ordeal has brought him closer to God. “Not a day goes by that I don’t seriously regret all those things that I did. I was a very, very lost, very empty person,” he said.

Looks like he will have more than enough time to finally find himself with that life sentence.
