Gayle King Says She Will Ban All Unvaccinated Family Members From Thanksgiving Festivities

Roommates, during a recent interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci discussing the new Delta variant of COVID-19, Gayle King stated that she is strongly taking precautions against the virus—-which include banning members of her own family from Thanksgiving if they are not vaccinated.

While speaking with U.S. COVID-19 adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci on “CBS This Morning,” Gayle King explained her reasoning for keeping all of her relatives who aren’t vaccinated at a distance this Thanksgiving:

“I don’t know many more times you can say to people, ‘Listen, it will save your life,’ I have this problem with some members of my own family, which I’m now going to ban for Thanksgiving vacation. That’s how strongly I’m taking what you’re saying.”

Dr. Fauci echoed her comments and pushed for more Americans to continue to get fully vaccinated as the more intense Delta variant continues to move swiftly throughout the United States. According to the latest report from the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention, 48% of the U.S. population is now fully vaccinated—which translates to 159.5 million people. Meanwhile, almost 185 million (or 55%) have received at least one vaccination dose.

As we previously reported, COVID-19 cases have increased in 45 states with 34 of those states seeing 50% increase in reported cases, according to Johns Hopkins University, CNN reports.

CNN also reports that most new cases are of unvaccinated people. “In June, 99% of COVID-19 related deaths were also of those who were unvaccinated,” according to Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
