Roommates, following the outrage and anger of the murder of George Floyd at the hands of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, protests erupted across the countrybut George Floyds brother recently provided some insight about how his brother would feel about the violent protests currently taking place.
During a recent appearance on ABCs Good Morning America, Terrence Floyd, the younger brother of the late George Floyd, spoke about how hes been coping since his brother was senselessly murdered by Derek Chauvinhe also stated that George would be very unhappy with all the violence going on.
Speaking about his brother, Terrence said this:
[S]ometimes I get angry, I want to bust some heads, too. I wanna … just go crazy. But Im here. My brother wasnt about that. My brother was about peace. Youll hear a lot of people say he was a gentle giant. [He] would want us to seek justice but to channel the anger another way.
He continued, adding:
It’s OK to be angry, but channel your anger to do something positive or make a change another way because we’ve been down this road already. The anger, damaging your hometown is not the way he’d want.
Meanwhile, Terrence was very adamant about those responsible for George Floyds murder receiving maximum punishment:
I want to see all of them get punished to the full extent for what they did to my brother. Because when I saw the videos, not only was the dude on his neck … not only that, you got the other three officers behind the camera, behind the car on him. So he cant move.
As we previously reported, Derek Chauvin was arrested and charged with third-degree murder for the death of George Floyd. His bail was set at $500,000 and he is currently being held in a maximum security prison awaiting his first court appearance.
