‘Good Times’ Actor Johnny Brown Passes Away At The Age Of 84

Roommates, we are sending our deepest condolences to the family of actor Johnny Brown. He is most known for starring on the classic sitcom “Good Times,” as Nathan Bookman.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, on Friday, Johnny’s daughter Sharon Catherine Brown took to social media to share that he passed away on Wednesday. She said, “Our family is devastated. Devastated. Devastated. Beyond heartbroken. Barely able to breathe. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time because we need a minute to process the unthinkable.”

As she continued to express what he meant to their family, Sharon added, “He was literally snatched out of our lives. It’s not real for us yet. So there will be more to say but not now. Dad was the absolute best. We love him so very much.”

Details about his passing were not made available at the time. However, tributes are starting to pour in.

Johnny’s “Good Times” co-star Bern Nadette Stanis said, “I am devastated to hear about my dear friend Johnny Brown who played Bookmen on our show Good Times. I will miss all the stories about SammyDavis Jr. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and even John Wayne. His talent was beyond measure. He was such a pleasure to work with. I certainly will miss his happy spirit and big smile. Praying for his family in every way.”

We are keeping Johnny Brown’s family lifted in prayer during this difficult time.
