Gypsy Rose Blanchard is turning her pain into purpose. On Sunday, October 4, she took to social media to announce a petition aimed to combat cyberbullying following the passing of her partner, Ken Urker. Blanchard said she hopes to push social media platforms to take stronger action when users repeatedly report harassment.
Blanchard is vowing to honor her partner, Ken Urker, following his sudden passing on his birthday. In a lengthy caption on Instagram, Gypsy explained that she created “Kenan’s Law” to help combat ongoing online harassment and cyberbullying. She claimed Ken faced an overwhelming amount of scrutiny on social media before his passing. According to Gypsy, several reports were filed across multiple platforms, but each time, the platforms responded with “No violation.”
“Kenans Law is about changing the way social-media platforms handle repeated reports of harassment. One post viewed alone may not tell the whole storybut hundreds of posts, videos and comments directed at one person can reveal a pattern that deserves meaningful review. This is not about silencing criticism or taking away anyones freedom of speech. Public figures can and should be criticized. But public figures are still human beings, and fame should never erase someones humanity,” Gypsy wrote.
Furthermore, Gypsy explained that while she can’t change what happened, she hopes to use her voice to push for a better system.“Kens passing has made me determined to turn pain into purpose. I cannot change what happened, but I can advocate for a better system for the next person who feels like no one is listening.”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Ken Urker reportedly passed away on Oct. 1 while celebrating his 34th birthday in Louisiana. According to TMZ, Gypsy texted Ken to wish him a happy birthday before her brother Dylan later found him unresponsive at home. Gypsy and Ken reportedly rekindled their romance in April 2024 after she split from her ex-husband, Ryan Anderson, that March. Months later, in December 2024, Gypsy and Ken welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker.
On Oct. 2, just one day after Ken’s reported passing, officials completed his autopsy. However, the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office couldn’t determine his exact cause of death and will await toxicology results before reaching a conclusion. Meanwhile, Page Six claimed it obtained an incident report detailing the discovery of Urker’s body. According to the report, Ken’s sister, Anita Blanchard, told authorities that she and other relatives attended church with him on Wednesday, Sept. 30. She also claimed Ken had made comments about feeling “depressed and upset.” Later that evening, Ken reportedly hopped on TikTok Live but remained silent throughout the stream. TMZ also shared footage from the livestream.
