This story definitely sounds like something that can go down on an episode of #OITNB. Linda Patricia Thompson, a 59-year-old woman fromCheyenne, WY is back behind bars after robbing a bank earlier this week.
According to the New York Daily News, Thompson was released from the Coffee Creek Corrections Facility a few weeks ago. However, prior to her releaseshe told authoritiesthat she didnt want to be released because she didnt feel like she would do too well on parole.
Fast forward to this week, she went to a U.S. bank branch and slipped the teller a note that read, I have a gun. Give me all your money. The teller handed her thousands in cash and she walked out the bank and threw the money in the air. She even handed some to a few strangers and sat on the curb waiting for the authorities to arrive.
She told police that she wanted to go back to jail because she couldnt find a room at the homeless shelter and was struggling on the streets. She claims to have suffered facial fractures after strangers beat her up at a Cheyenne park last week.
Thompson was homeless when she was arrested and later convicted for second-degree robbery in La Grande, WY back in 2010.
Although this situation is unfortunate, its very sad as well.
