Houston Mother Sentenced To Life In Prison For The Fatal Beating Of Her 4-Month-Old Daughter

A Houston mother has been sentenced to life in prison for reportedly “beating her infant daughter to death.” According to Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the mother, Tradezsha Trenay Bibbs, was sentenced on Monday.

More Details Regarding The Mother’s Conviction & Alleged Motive

Tradezsha Trenay Bibbs, 29, was reportedly sentenced on Monday after being convicted of felony murder. According to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Bibbs is responsible for the death of her 4-month-old daughter Brielle Robinson.

According to ABC13, authorities were reportedly called to the Red Carpet Inn in Houston, Texas, on April 16, 2016. Bibbs told officers that she heard her daughter crying, then picked her up by her arms and dropped her on the bed, which caused Robinson to fall to the floor.

Bibbs then “continuously struck” the 4-month-old “in the face, chest, ribs, and legs until the child stopped crying.”

Additionally, the mother told police that she “started not to care about the child’s well-being.” But called 911 once the baby stopped breathing.

Robinson was then transported to Texas Children’s Hospital. Doctors determined that the 4-month-old suffered “multiple fractures and severe head trauma.”

The Houston Police Department reportedly investigated Robinson’s death.

According to Assistant District Attorney Keaton Forcht, Bibbs allegedly killed her daughter because the infant’s father no longer wanted a relationship with the mother.

Reactions To Tradezsha Trenay Bibb’s Trial & Sentencing

According to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Bibbs was initially convicted of capital murder. However, the 29-year-old’s verdict was reversed, and she was retried. The newtrial reportedly lasted a week.

Assistant District Attorney Keaton Forcht noted jurors listened to evidence from emergency room doctors who alleged that Bibbs“did not seem interested in the babys medical care.” Additionally, she was not attentive to the fatal head injuries she inflicted upon the child.

Forcht shared a statement about Bibbs’ sentencing.

Bibbs deserved a life sentence for what she did to her child. She beat her countless times and seemed to care about as much about the death of her daughter as she did about the life of her daughter.”

Additionally, Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg also shared a statement.

“Our office stands up for all victims, but a baby is the most innocent of victims. We believed that a life sentence was appropriate for this brutal murder and a Harris County jury agreed.”
