How To Set Yourself Up For A Successful 2016!

As we get ready to welcome 2016, many of us are prepping for the new year by evaluating what we really want out of life. Most of our goals really boil down to self-development of some kind whether it’s physical or emotional (or other -ogicals and -otionals as you can imagine). Once you’ve identified some goals, what do you do with them? These are just a few tips that you can refer to while planning for a successful year! There’s schmoney out here!! Get it!
1.) Reflect on 2015

What were some really big highlights of your year? Were they good or bad? More importantly, what did you learn from what you had experienced? It’s important to reflect over past challenges, because in order to know where you’re going, you have to acknowledge the past. There’s always a lesson in anything you go through, but choosing not to apply the lesson will come back to bite you!
2.) What are your short term and long-term goals?

There can be a lot of pressure on us, come the new year, as we prepare our minds and bodies to go cold turkey in order to meet our goals. I think that one reason why this doesn’t work too often is because we don’t acknowledge that certain things may take some time to occur. We just get excited about doing something we said we’d do, because it makes us feel good and that’s okay. However, compartmentalizing what you can do in a shorter amount of time as well as what you can do over the course of insert time frame here will help to keep you focused on what you can immediately take care of! With that being said…

3.) Write out an action plan!

When you write down an idea, it’s no longer just an idea. It’s manifested itself onto paper and has become something that you can see– just not in the form you are imagining it in…yet! Therefore, once you write out the steps needed to achieve your goal, then the universe will conspire in your favor to make it happen! Make sure that your plan is in detail so that your focus is clear, too!

4.) Dream big!

In conjunction with #3, dreaming is essential to goal setting. Don’t you know that you can literally do anything that you want to do? Just like R. Kelly said in I Believe I Can Fly: “If I can see it, then I can do it. If I just believe it, there’s nothing to it!” I can’t stress to you how simple this is! Don’t be afraid to go after your biggest, wildest dreams in 2016! They can and will come true with diligence and patience!

5.) Read A Book.

Books contain all of the good advice that they don’t talk about in public, so I would suggest reading up on whatever topics you’re involved in. That way you can apply what you’ve learned to your game plan for next year! You’ll only build from there.

6.) Tie up lose ends.

If you’ve had a petty falling out with a loved one and you feel it’s worth salvaging, then forgive and forget. New year, new beginnings! Keep and open mind, because you never know what someone may have been feeling.
7.) Clean up!

Cleanliness is next to godliness, ya hurrrrd me? Besides, a clean house makes you feel so light and optimistic. It could be the cleaning supplies, too.

8.) Get a jumpstart.

Okay, so you have your goals written down along with a detailed action plan, so, you could really get started now. Why waste a perfectly good 5 days until next year? By getting ahead on your plans, you will make some sickening return on your early dedication!

9.) Let it gooooo!

If you have people holding you back that are not helping nor hindering you, then it should be ‘nun ta cut that ***** off! Reserve room in your circle for people who are focused on making their dreams come true. Iron sharpens iron!

10.) Celebrate!

You will have made it to a new year, so be grateful and anticipate good things to happen for you! 2016 is revealing itself to be a huge year for those of us who have been working all year. You deserve to get a new outfit and go out to experience life, chile!
