Hundreds Join Stephon Clark’s Brother In Protest At Sacramento City Hall Meeting

On Tuesday, a City Hall meeting was held in Sacramento to discuss the recent killing of Stephon Clark.

During the meeting, Stephon Clark’s brother, Stevante Clark, walked through the meeting urging the crowd to chant his brother’s name as he made his way up to the dais where the mayor sat.

According to ABC News, Stevante said to the crowd, “The mayor and the city of Sacramento has failed all of you. The gang-banging has to stop. The poverty is uncontrollable. I need y’all to hear me.”

A video from the meeting has since gone viral, and Stevante can be seen getting escorted out. Shortly after the meeting was shut down for “safety concerns.”

Earlier this month Stephon Clark was shot 20 times in his grandmother’s backyard after police reportedly received a call that a man in a hoodie breaking car windows and hiding in a backyard.

Clark was unarmed and only holding a cellphone at the time of the shooting. Since then, the officers involved were placed on administrative leave.
