‘Insecure’ Star Yvonne Orji Shares A Photo Of The Final Episode Script Of The HBO Series

Actress Yvonne Orji slid through the Instagram timeline bearing news that literally no ‘Insecure’ fan wants to see! On Thursday evening, she shared a photo of the front cover of the HBO series’ last episode. Yes, we mean last as in forever *cue the tears.* As previously reported, the fifth season will wrap the stories that’ve been unfolding since 2016, when the show first debuted.

“The final episode,” Yvonne wrote in her Instagram caption, “Deng. This really is good-bye. I’mo miss y’all.”

And if fans were hoping for a lengthy ending to the final season, they might be in for some disappointment. The script in the photo shared by Yvonne is marked “Episode 510,” which likely means fans will only get 10 episodes to say their goodbyes.

Earlier this year, series creator and main star Issa Rae tweeted about her excitement to be wrapping the show.

“Very excited to film our fifth and final season,” Issa wrote. “We couldn’t have told a complete story without the tremendous support of our audience and faith of HBO. See y’all soon!”

In an official statement, Issa revealed that the plan was always to end the show on season five. Additionally, she expressed gratitude to HBO and fans for allowing her vision to reach completion.

Prentice and I are so grateful that HBO believed in our show from the beginning and kept faith in us to see our vision through the end,” Issa said. “We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldnt have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience. I feel blessed beyond measure to bring our characters stories to an end, on-screen at least.

Filming for the last season began back in January, shortly after the official announcement.

‘Insecure’ became an instant hit when it debuted on HBO in October 2016. According to Variety, the series maintained an average “95% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes” throughout its first four seasons. Moreover, it boasts plenty of prestigious industry nominations and awards. Among those accolades are, eleven Emmy nominations and one 2020 win for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series.

Roomies, which character from ‘Insecure’ will you miss the most?
