Jaden Smith Set To Play Young Kanye West In New Showtime Series!

Roommates, Kanye West has proven that he is a man of many crafts! Musical genius, fashion icon, and political figure are just some of his many hats, but now Ye will be adding a TV series to his resume.
‘Omniverse’ will be Kanye’s very first television series, and it might be a very strange one, The Hollywood Reporter reports. The Showtime anthology will star Jaden Smith, who will play a young Ye in an alternate reality.
Producers describe the series as a half-hour anthology series “examining the many doors of perception.” This isn’t a far fetched idea for Kanye, who has showed us his mind works quite differently than the average person.
The first season will explore the perception of ‘ego’ through the alternate reality of young Ye, giving insight to Kanye’s thoughts, feelings, and viewpoint as a child growing up in Chicago.
Kanye is executive producing the show alongside Scooter Braun, Lee Sung Jin, Scott Manson and Miguel Mendez. Together, the clan will bring Showtime it’s first anthology–a series presenting a different story in each episode–in years.
Ye might be new to the television industry outside of his role on ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ but Jaden is not new to the big screen! We’ve seen him in movies from ‘The Pursuit Of Happyness’ to ‘The Karate Kid’, and he has also played roles in various animated series’.
If there’s anything Kanye and Jaden have in common, it’s their out of the ordinary fashion choices and willingness to be different. Do y’all think Jaden will play a good young Ye? Let us know in the comments!
