Jamie Foxx has spoken out after reportedly being hit in the face with glass at his recent birthday dinner.
On Saturday, December 14, TMZ published an exclusive report asserting that Foxx celebrated his 57th birthday with a dinner at Mr. Chow on Friday, December 13. Furthermore, the outlet reported that at the Beverly Hills establishment, Foxx “was allegedly involved in a fight.”
Per the outlet, Foxx had left the location by the time police arrived. Additionally, initial details about what exactly went down remained murky.
However, later that evening, a spokesperson for Foxx shared a statement with the outlet about the alleged incident.
“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcements hands,” the statement reads.
Additionally, a witness reportedly told the outlet that customers at a table near Fox were being “rude and vulgar” to the actor. When Fox allegedly asked them to stop the antics, one person at the table “allegedly threw the glass that hit him in the face.”
Over the weekend, Foxx took to his Instagram to share a text post in response to the news reports. Furthermore, the actor shared a black background with text that read, “The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed.”
“The devil is a lie. Cant win here thank you to everybody that pray and check on me when your light is shining bright they try to bring you darkness but they dont know that youre built for it the lights have been shining bright and huge thank yous to everyone that have watched and been inspired by ‘What Had Happened Was’ number 1 on @netflix if you havent checked it out please go check it out its from my heart and my soul,” Foxx added in the caption of his post.
Per USA Today, the Beverly Hills Police Department’s investigation into Friday’s incident involving Foxx remains ongoing.
