As previously reported, Britney Spears gave a heartbreaking testimony at a recent conservatorship hearing. She detailed allegations of abuse by her father Jamie Spears, including being drugged with lithium and forced to keep an IUD (birth control) implanted. She followed up her testimony by apologizing to fans for pretending she was okay during the last two years. Britney shared that she was dishonest due to her “pride” and feelings of embarrassment. On Monday, Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears broke her silence following the allegations. She took to Instagram to make it clear that she has always and will continue to support her sister.
In a two-and-a-half minute video, the famed actress seemingly addressed circulating critiques that she hasn’t done enough to support Britney during this time.
“Maybe I didn’t support her the way the public would like me to with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you that I’ve supported my sister long before there was a hashtag and I’ll support her long after note that” Jamie said.
Jamie shared that she felt it “wasn’t [her] place” nor the “right thing to do” to speak publicly on the matter until after Britney “said what she needed to say.” She made it crystal clear that she’s “only loved, adored and supported” Britney since birth.
“I don’t care if she wants to run away to a rainforest and have a zillion babies in the middle of nowhere or if she wants to come back and dominate the world the way she has so many times before,” Jamie said in reference to Britney’s testimony about wanting to get married and have a baby.

Jamie expressed that her only concern is Britney’s “happiness” because she has nothing to “gain or lose” from the situation. She clarified that she’s made a “conscious choice” to only participate in Britney’s life as a sister and aunt to Britney’s sons.
She also stated that she’s speaking on behalf of herself and not her family. Jamie followed up that clarification by saying that she’s “so proud” of Britney for not only “using her voice,” but also requesting new counsel. She revealed that she told her sister to do so “many years ago” in a private sister-sister conversation versus on a big platform.
“If ending the conservatorship and flying to Mars or whatever the hell else she wants to do to be happy, I support that one hundred percent because I support my sister,” Jamie said. “I love my sister. Always have, always will.”
Roommates, what do you think about Jamie’s video explanation?
