Rising star #JasonMitchell is facing some rough times ahead over allegations of inappropriate behavior.
In addition to being dropped by his agency, he is also being kicked off #TheChi and a new #Netflix movie he had been cast as a lead, according to @Deadline.
The specifics are unclear but Deadline reports the accusations were serious enough for him to lose out on a lot of business.
UTA management company, Authentic Talent & Literary Management was the agency that let Jason go but he reportedly was dismissed from his Netflix project “Desperados” first. The decision was made after the producers reportedly had received information about the alleged off-set incident.
The alleged incident was investigated immediately and thoroughly, leading to Jason’s termination from the movie, in which he was to star opposite former “Saturday Night Live” actress Nasim Pedrad and Anna Camp.
Jason was also quickly fired by UTA and Authentic and while reps for both companies confirmed to Deadline that Jason is no longer a client, they declined further comment on the matter.
Word of the incident involving the actor reportedly then reached the producers of “The Chi,” which was recently picked up for a third season, and in light of the seriousness of the allegations, Jason was given the boot.
Reps for Fox 21 and Showtime confirmed to Deadline that Jason would not continue on the show beyond its current second season, declining further comment.
Jason had allegedly previously been involved in an inappropriate behavior incident on the show, which had been resolved.
Jason became one to watch after his breakout role as Eazy-E in “Straight Outta Compton.” He was investigated for assault in 2016 when a woman publicly accused him of slamming her to the ground in a Boston hotel.
Attempts by Deadline to reach Jason for comment through representatives were reportedly unsuccessful.
