Jaylen Brown Breaks Silence After Viral Video Seemingly Shows Him Calling Out Bronny’s Pro Skills

Jaylen Brown is in the hot seat for speaking on the NBA’s newest golden child:Bronny James. Brown commented on the 19-year-old’s pro skills while watching him on the court at the NBA Summer League game on July 15.

The match was between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brown’s home team, the Boston Celtics, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Celtics won with an 88-74 score, but Jaylen’s Bronny comment was the topic of conversation on social media on Tuesday.

Here’s What Jaylen Brown Reportedly Said About Bronny James

The Celtics player was seated courtside next to Kysre Gondrezick and Chicago Sky player Angel Reese. At one point, he turned to the women and seemingly says, “I don’t think Bronny is a pro.”

While Kysre responded, Angel turned away and looked back at her phone. The trio interaction went viral overnight. Watch it below.

Hours after the video started trending on socials, Brown took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to address what he said. He quoted the video of himself and added that James Jr. has the right people around him to succeed.

“Its a flex to have your son alongside you in the NBA, it reflects greatness and longevity! Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful. I look forward to watching his growth,” Jaylen wrote.

On June 27, the team drafted James Jr. as the 55th overall pick to be a guard. Bronny’s rookie position on the LA Lakers has caused much conversation, particularly about nepotism and LeBron James’ alleged influence on the draft outcome.

In his first year as a pro, Bronny is set to collect at least 1.1 million, with the amount slightly increasing year-over-year for the next four.
