Jeannie Mai Expresses Support For T.I.’s Decision To Check Deyjah’s Hymen–Says She Understands His Concern

Roommates, T.I. is a popular name in entertainment news at the moment, but it may not be for the best reason. Recently, T.I. appeared on an episode of the Ladies Like Us podcast, and spoke about his relationship with his daughter, and her sexual experiences.

After Tip revealed that he accompanies Deyjah to her gynecologist appointments to ensure her “hymen is still in tact”, social media began spewing opinions both in favor of his actions, and against.

There have been many women, including Iggy Azalea, who have spoken out against Tip, expressing his methods might be obsessive and controlling. Jeannie Mai, however, provides us with a different take to the issue.

While keke’ing during Girl Chat, Jeannie says that she supports what T.I. is doing because she understands how difficult it can be to relate your experiences as a parent to your child. She says that she was a wild girl herself as a child, and even shares a story about how she used to sneak her boyfriend into her bedroom.

Jeannie continues, saying that what Tip’s doing might be perceived as invasive, but it could be to protect his daughter in the long run. And as the other ladies on the stage stare at her blankly, Jeannie expands on her thoughts, and even questions T.I. on how he could better his relationship with Deyjah in regards to her sexual experiences.

“What I ask of T.I if he’s really doing this, because he’s clearly concerned about today’s world and that everything promotes sex,” Jeannie says. “I would just say what is it that you’re concerned about when it comes to the breaking of the hymen, or that she’s having sex? Is it the STD’s, is it that she doesn’t understand what love is? Does he need to know the boys? Why doesn’t he trust her?”

Jeannie ends with a small piece of advice for Deyjah and Tip, saying he needs to express to her where his concern is coming from so she doesn’t interpret his actions as a form of control.
