Jeannie Mai Gets Emotional Discussing Being Your Own Upgrade & Her Relationship With Young Jeezy

Daytime talk show Jeannie Mai of The Real, is head over heels in love for her new boyfriend, rapper Young Jeezy. Not only have the couple been repeatedly doing it for the ‘gram, but they have also been spotted at some high-profile industry events. Additionally, Jeannie regularly discusses their relationship on her show—and her latest bit of info had her tearing up.

On the most recent episode of The Real the roundtable discussion evolved into what it means to be your own upgrade, a discussion that made Jeannie Mai very emotional, as she also discussed her former marriage that ended in divorce back in 2017.

While comparing her new relationship to her old one, Jeannie admitted that her “standards were low” and that she often settled for the bare minimum in her marriage to ex-husband Freddie Harteis. “We can go into a whole counseling session on why I only gave myself the bare minimum, so I am not blaming my ex for the things that he barely came through to do,” she said.

She continued, adding:

“When [Freddy] said things like ‘good for you’ or ‘that’s cool,’ I’m like, that’s great, he supports me! That to me is my standard of support. I didn’t even know until my new relationship that something as basic. I’m not crying to feel bad. It was just so touchy. But even something as basic as, like, at his birthday party, he (Jeezy) left his own birthday to drive me to the airport…he was like ‘are you kidding? I want to see you off.’”

Jeannie also revealed that her divorce and time away from the dating scene was beneficial to her because it helped her look within:

“Be mindful of your standards, sometimes being alone in that time I took for myself, was my upgrade.”

Well, it looks like this couple is definitely going strong.
