Jeezy is spilling the tea on life after Jeannie Mai. The Atlanta rapper is opening up about his divorce, the lessons he learned, and how hes leveling up since splitting from the TV personality. From realizing he wasnt always the easiest husband to learning what compromise even is, Jeezys not holding back.
During a recent interview with Bishop T.D. Jakes, the Atlanta rap icon, opened up about the lessons hes gained while navigating the highly publicized split. Jeezy, born Jay Jenkins, shared that while the marriage ended in September 2023 after two years, he holds no regrets. He reflected on the lessons the relationship taught him, saying, “I learned that I was a great husband. I got a beautiful daughter out of the saturation. I learned a lot about myself. Theres things that I need to continue to work on.”
The rapper explained that the split pushed him toward self-reflection and emotional accountability, admitting:
“I was selfish in my prior life, and I think just going forward in life- it just taught me how to give someone else grace and actually listen to understand rather than just to listen to reply. Jeezy also opened up about the concept of compromise, noting that sharing a life with someone taught him the value of giving and adjusting, something he hadnt fully grasped before: When youre sharing a life with someonethis is a partnership. I never had to compromise. It taught me a lot about what compromise is like.”
Fans sprinted to The Shade Rooms comment section with all the takes on Jeezys reflections, and yall, the opinions were all over the place. Some claimed he is giving major Im the problem energy, while others argued the split was obvious and they shouldnt have been together from the jump. Meanwhile, a few felt he still wasnt taking full accountability, and others reminded everyone that a solid friendship is the real foundation of any relationship.

Like her ex-husband, Jeannie Mai has also finally opened up. Over the weekend, the TV personality took to Instagram to share a heartfelt moment with her daughter, Monaco, giving fans a peek at the love and healing happening on her side of the story. In the clip, Monaco is seated on Jeannies lap, hands gently on her moms cheeks, as they share an intimate moment that left Mai completely emotional.
In the caption, Mai detailed how the interaction unfolded after a long day of school visits, park time, and work. She wrote that Monaco slowly whispered, You are incredible. You are worthy. You are my dream (dweem) come true, before pressing a kiss to her cheek and forehead and saying, I love you my daughter.”
Jeannie explained that hearing her own words repeated backwords she had only ever whispered as prayers while Monaco sleptbroke something open in her, showing that her daughter had absorbed her love and devotion. Mai reflected on the moment as a full-circle act of healing, saying, “Maybe this is what healing really is: not erasing what happened, but letting love arrive through the very child who inherited your courage to keep going.“
