Jermaine Dupri Reveals He Regrets Not Introducing TLC To The Masses

Since we’re in Quarantine Season, celebs are on social media more than usual and giving us a deeper look into their personality and truths.

Legendary producer, Jermaine Dupri, has been around for some time. He’s known for breaking artists like XScape, Kris Kross, Da Brat, Bow Wow, and a few others.

While having a question and answer session on IG, a follower asked, “Any artists you regret passing up on?”

Dupri mentioned he regretted passing on TLC. At the time, he didn’t think he had the bandwidth to manage the girl group and Kris Kross.

He wrote:

“I regret not trying to do TLC at the same time as Kris Kross. I was only 19 years old at the time and didn’t believe in myself as a person, as someone having the bandwidth to have both artists,” Dupri wrote. “I was putting so much energy into Kriss Kross, and I was only giving TLC maybe 30 to 40 percent, not even 50 percent.”

“I felt I was spreading myself thin by trying to provide both of these groups what they needed to become the success they eventually both grew to become,” Dupri continued in the post. “So I eliminated myself from TLC being a group that I actually introduced to the world.”

This isn’t his first time speaking out about TLC. In an episode of TV One’s Unsung, he stated that Left Eye lived with him, when he met Kris Kross.

“TLC was my group before they got signed to LaFace,” he said. “Left Eye was living at my house when I found Kris Kross. The backward clothes came after we started getting more and more songs. The backward clothes actually came from being around Left Eye.”

Speaking of producers, would y’all like to see Jermaine Dupri battle someone? I’m thinking Jazze Pha. What you say, Roomies?
