Here’s more from The Jersey Journal:
Jersey City rapper Joe Budden, who appeared to post a number of tweets from jail today, has been formally charged with robbery and grand larceny in New York City, authorities said.
The rap star turned himself into authorities this morning at the New York Police Department’s 34th Precinct in Upper Manhattan, where he was rung up on charges stemming from an incident last week involving his ex-girlfriend, police spokeswoman Arlene Muniz said.
The 33-year-old Edgewater resident was wanted by New York police after he allegedly stole his ex-girlfriend’s cell phone outside a Washington Heights restaurant, according to the New York Daily News.
A friend of the woman told mediatakeout.com that the rapper also bashed her head into the dashboard of his car and later choked her inside his home, although he was not charged with any form of assault when he surrendered to police.
Muniz could not confirm whether Budden had been released or was still in custody.
Get it together Joe!
