Jordyn Jones & Barron Brantley Officially Indicted For The Murder Of Alexis Crawford

#Roommates, last October Atlanta residents as well as those throughout the country were shocked to learn of the tragic death of former Clark Atlanta University student Alexis Crawford, who was allegedly brutally murdered by her roommate Jordyn Jones and Jordyn’s boyfriend Barron Brantley. Well now, both Jordyn and Barron have officially been indicted for Alexis’s murder.

@AJC reports, Jordyn Jones, 22, and Barron Brantley, 21, were indicted on January 31st on two counts of felony murder, as well as one count each of murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and concealing the death of another. Additionally, Barron was also indicted on one count of aggravated sodomy for the alleged sexual assault of Alexis just five days before she was murdered, according to a spokesman for the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

Jordyn and Barron are accused of killing 21-year-old Alexis and putting her body in a plastic bin at a local DeKalb County park. After a week-long search, police found Alexis’s body on November 8, following her initially being reported missing on Halloween. Atlanta police Detective Mike Young previously testified that Barron told police he choked Alexis following her fight with his girlfriend Jordyn on Halloween morning.

Alexis and Jordyn were best friends while students at Clark Atlanta, with Jordyn actually going home with Alexis during previous holidays. On October 26th, Barron was at the ladies’ apartment and told police that the three of them consumed alcohol—the very next day Alexis filed a police reports alleging that Barron had sexually assaulted her.

Following the sexual assault claims, Alexis and Jordyn were no longer speaking to each other. However, on October 30th, Alexis reportedly asked Jordyn to take her to get alcohol. Once they got back to their apartment they got into a physical altercation—and that’s when Barron reportedly got involved.

“As a result of the physical altercation, Barron Brantley choked the victim until she was deceased,” an Atlanta Police Department report said. “Afterwards, Jones and Brantley placed Alexis Crawford in a plastic bin and transported her body to Exchange Park in Decatur … where they placed her body in the woods.”

Jordyn Jones and Barron Brantley continue to remain in jail without bond.
