Jussie Smollett Opens Up To Marc Lamont Hill In New Interview About His Ongoing Court Case—“There’s An Example Being Made Of Someone Who Didn’t Do What They’re Accused Of”

Roommates, after being relatively quiet since his highly publicized court case early last year, Jussie Smollett recently broke his silence during an interview with Marc Lamont Hill. While on Instagram live, Jussie Smollett spoke out as much as he could regarding his pending legal situation from January 2019 when he said he was the victim of a hate crime.

During the revealing interview, Jussie Smollett continued to maintain his innocence and also stated that it’s been very frustrating being unable to truly speak about what happened due to him still being tied up in litigation. Jussie also called out the media for not reporting those who corroborated his story and only spotlighting those who say that he was lying about the events that took place that night he was allegedly robbed and beaten.

Admitting that keeping quiet for almost two years as things have unfolded has been challenging, Jussie had this to say:

“It’s been beyond frustrating because to be somebody that’s so outspoken… it’s been difficult to be so quiet. To not be able to say all of the things that you want to say, to not be able to yell from the rooftop. Because, I don’t think people realize that I’ve just been wrapped up in some form of a case for the last, approaching, in just a couple of months approaching two years. It’s been beyond frustrating. I’m certainly not going rogue. I’m still taking the advice of my attorneys and everything like that. But I just don’t see honestly what staying quiet has really done. Where it has gotten me.”

He also added that his treatment by the courts and local authorities is because they want to make an example of him, “They won’t let this go. It doesn’t matter. There is an example being made. And the sad thing is that there’s an example being made of someone that did not do what they’re being accused of,” Jussie said.
