Kandi Burruss Alleges That Former ‘RHOA’ Producer Carlos King Stole The Life Rights For Xscape

Following online speculation that the two were not on speaking terms, during a recent interview, Kandi Burruss hurled a shocking allegation against former ‘RHOA’ producer Carlos King, when she said that he went behind her back and stole the life rights for her R&B group Xscape. Getting visibly emotional recalling the alleged incident, Kandi Burruss said that what Carlos King did was so unforgivable that she could never be friends with him again.

Kandi Burruss gave detailed account of how Carlos King not only allegedly stole the life rights for Xscape, but also attempted to use her mother to have an exclusive interview in the project without her knowledge.

“My main issue with Carlos is he is the one who stole my group’s life story and sold it to TVOne, and for that I just can’t get past it. He had been working with us that entire season on ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ The season wrapped in November and in December and…I was talking to a [director] friend and I was like, ‘Hey, we should do a movie about our group’s life,’ and they were like, ‘Somebody’s already doing it,’” Kandi said.

She continued, adding “Come to find out he is the person who had did the deal with TV One to sell our life story and was going try to ask my mother questions about us unknowingly to try to get more information, I guess, for the show.”

Kandi Burruss also revealed that she was the person responsible for Carlos King getting his initial shot on ‘RHOA.’ She stated, “Our show was the first show he was executive producer of. I literally fought for him to be the executive producer of my show, to be the lead executive producer. For you to have somebody that you went out for…to do that to me, I have no respect for him.”
