Roommates, it looks like Kandi Burruss got the one thing she joked was on her Christmas wishlist: a divorce. Kandi and Todd Tucker have reportedly reached a settlement in their split, according to TMZ. Burruss filed to end the nearly 11-year marriage in November. Since then, court filings by both parties have exposed disagreements over matters such as child custody, despite celebrating their daughter’s birthday and the holidays as a family.
As mentioned, the ex-couple has been keeping it friendly for the kiddos. But on paper? Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have stood their ground on requests for custody and living arrangements amid their separation. Now, TMZ reports that they’ve reached a settlement to continue going their separate ways while co-parenting. Apparently, court docs reveal they informed the court of their deal on March 11 and in response have until next week to submit their settlement paperwork. That paperwork is meant to include a parenting plan regarding their two minor children, nine-year-old Ace and six-year-old Blaze.
When Kandi Burruss filed to divorce Todd, she wanted joint custody of their kids. However, after Todd demanded primary custody, she switched up to wanting sole custody. So, one major point of contention has been who will be the primary caregiver. They both called out each other’s parental availability amid bustling careers and frequent travel. If the ex-pair opts to keep their docs public record, we will learn where they settled on the custody issue next week.
Speaking of the kids…Kandi also claimed her estranged husband was living “rent-free” in her guest house and hadn’t contributed to Ace and Blaze’s expenses. He clapped back in a court filing of his own, saying he stayed in the property after Kandi kicked him out from their main home. Todd also shut down her claim of being the sole provider.
While neither has officially said, reports speculated last year that the split was due to infidelity involving other women.
Marriage isn’t the only thing Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker have recently settled. According to a separate report from TMZ, their company, Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group, also reached an agreement over rent and remediation costs. Court docs reportedly say the group will pay a landlord $140,509.10 in connection to the restaurant, Blaze Steak & Seafood. Kandi and Todd’s company had been in litigation with the landlord for over a year. However, the court recently accepted the terms all parties came up with, including dismissing the case. The ex-couple will only be responsible for the $140,000, despite initial claims from the landlord exceeding $200,000.
