Kanye West Reportedly Creating ‘Star Wars’-Themed Low-Income Housing Units In California

Kanye West and his eclectic ideas never cease to amaze us. His most recent project is something we certainly have never seen before.

In a interview with Forbes, Kanye gives a first look at his low-income housing project. Ye is reportedly creating housing units to resemble what Luke Skywalker lived in on Star Wars.

Forbes’ Zack O’Malley Greenburg takes a trip with Kanye to the California woods, where models of the units are being designed and constructed.

“Inspired by Luke Skywalker’s childhood home, West has been working with a team to design prefabricated structures that sport the same austere aesthetic, with the goal of deploying them as low income housing units,” Greenburg writes. “He tells me they could be used as living spaces for the homesless, perhaps sunk into the ground with light filtering through the top.”

Greenburg says Kanye also has an upcoming with with potential investors in San Francisco.

Kanye has long had an obsession with ‘Star Wars’. He makes various references to the movie in his lyrics, and has appeared with Kylo Ren on an episode of SNL.

Kanye incorporates Star Wars into his marriage as well. In 2004, Kanye created a Star Wars-themed skit for Comedy Central and insisted Kim K star as princess Leia. And the rest is history!

“I told Kanye that it was a bad idea, but I did it as diplomatically as I could,” said Daniel Kellison, who directed the skit. “You’re the star of the pilot. We can put Kim Kardashian in episode 3 or 4, but let’s focus on you. But he resisted.”

Kim K has openly attributed Star Wars to her meeting and ultimately falling in love with Kanye!

In a tweet, Kim says; “Star Wars kinda brought me to Kanye.” Now, Star Wars will bring affordable housing to California!

We wish Ye good luck with this endeavor!
