If you were hoping to snatch Karrueche Tran off the market in 2022, think again! The model and actress told Instagram users on Saturday she’s going on a special diet next year. Apparently, that diet includes “cutting men” out of it. And it looks like her half-sentence, diet reference caused some frenzy. She later explained her comment on-camera in a series of Instagram Story posts.
Following the one-liner post, Karrueche clarified that she doesn’t “hate men.” She also said she’s not “getting done dirty by some dude” — alluding that her post has nothing to do with heartbreak. Instead, she spoke on the power of being single.
“I just feel that there’s so much power in being alone, being content with being alone, and not being dependant on a man for validation or to feel good about myself or to feel fulfilled,” Karrueche said.
Wearing a forest green top and slicked back hairstyle, the actress admitted sometimes she does bask in the glory of having a man. Karrueche said she sometimes “loves the attention from them.” Still, her point stands.
“…And sometimes I do feel that way and I do love the attention from men, but it’s also unnecessary and also, men are a distraction,” Karrueche said with a slight smirk and stifled laugh.
She lightly apologized for the comment saying, “sorry I hate to say it.” Nonetheless, she pushes on with her point. Karrueche makes it crystal that she doesn’t need any distractions in 2022.
“I’m really trying to take my whole life to another level,” Karrueche said. “Mentally, physically, my career. Just all of that. So, it’s just a little detox.”
The ‘Claws’ star wrapped up explaining her dating goals with a selfie captioned, “let’s see how long I last lmao.”
Karrueche’s desire to pivot completely into work isn’t surprising given her decorated success this year. In July, she became the first AAPI (Asian American & Pacific Islander) lead actress to win a Daytime Emmy Award. She secured the 2021 win with her role as Vivian Johnson on the series ‘The Bay.’
