About 14 minutes into the interview, Thembi and Kash Doll landed on the subject of “doll gate” Kash’s now-viral exchanges with some of her fellow female rappers who use the “doll” moniker. Thembi asked the rapper for her feelings on the topic. And Kash made it clear that her stance stems from her wanting to have her own “identity.”
“I never said no one would copy me, but I would have never been ‘Kash Minaj’ whether I wanted that before I knew her, I just would’ve never did it because it’s already done, and that’s all I gotta say,” Kash told Thembi before adding. “But it’s all love.”
Furthermore, Kash doubled down on previous sentiments about changing her rap name. Per her, she would rather go by “Keisha.” Furthermore, she says, at this point, the “doll” name is too over-saturated.
About 38 minutes into the interview, Kash seemingly confirmed being cheated on by Tracy T. Despite this, and their separation, she explained that she’s “genuinely happy.” As for how she connected with her newfound love, Za’Darius Smith, she explained to Thembi that she didn’t know of the NFLer before meeting him.
“He was trying to for a minute he was in my DMs, but I didn’t know,” Kash told Thembi.
