Kenneth Walker Says An Officer Told Him It Was “Unfortunate” He Wasn’t Shot The Night Of The Breonna Taylor Shooting

Kenneth Walker’s full interview with Gayle King for CBS is now available and more details about the tragic night that Breonna Taylor was killed have been revealed. Kenneth continued to speak out about that night in detail from his perspective, as he lets the world know what happened leading up to the shooting and after the shooting.

While speaking with Gayle, Kenneth talked about moments after Breonna was hit with gunfire. He said he left the apartment seeking help and that is when he was swarmed by police. He says that when officers asked if he was hit with gunfire, he told them no. That’s when he said that one of the officers told him it was “unfortunate,” that he wasn’t hit.

Kenneth continued to say, “I didn’t know what to think, and I really wasn’t worried about me. Only reason I’m even out here is because only way for her to get help in there is for me to be out here.”

He continued, to detail how the police dragged him down the street to their car while he had on no socks or shoes. Kenneth says that before being taken to the police headquarters, the officers pulled over to a random parking lot where another officer in an unmarked car approached his window and told him that there was a “miscommunication” and asked if he needed anything.

Once at the police headquarters, he says they took the handcuffs off of him, and he was able to walk around freely. That is when he knew something was wrong.

“You don’t allegedly shoot a police officer… and they take the handcuffs off,” said Kenneth.

Kenneth continued to say that officers did not tell him that Breonna had passed, but instead, he had to hear about it on the news.

As previously reported, none of the officers responsible for the death of Breonna Taylor were charged for her murder. Instead, former officer Brett Hankison was indicted for three counts of wanton endangerment.
