Oop! Kevin Hart Responds To Katt Williams Calling Him An Industry Plant

Katt Williams‘ recent remarks about his comedic peers set the internet ablaze on Wednesday (January 3). And now, Kevin Hart is speaking out after Williams’ not-so-nice comments about him.

As previously reported, Williams sat down for a candid chat on Shannon Sharpe‘s ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast. During their conversation, they brought up Hart’s name, but it seemed Williams didn’t have much fondness for the ‘Jumanji’ star.

Katt Williams Shared His Thoughts On Kevin Hart

The 52-year-old didn’t hold back either, asserting that Hart is a Hollywood puppet, whose career statistics were overly inflated.

Williams further claimed that several movies that Hart had appeared in were projects that were initially offered to Williams.

But when he requested to have the scripts revised so they weren’t “overtly homosexual,” they passed the roles down to Hart instead.

And me saying that and them going, ‘Oh yeah, no problem,’ and then going to give it to this other guy and having him doing it just like it was and acting like I’m a bad person ’cause I keep standing on my standard,” he said.

Williams also commented that none of Hart’s supposed lackluster comedy shows have made enough impact on his fans to receive a standing ovation.

He claimed that his rival hadn’t sold out a single show, even though Hart and Chris Rock embarked on a four-date tour just last year for their ‘Headliners Only’ special on Netflix. The Wrap reports that they sold out every comedy gig.

In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of a sold-out Kevin Hart show, there being a line for him, ever getting a standing ovation at any comedy club,” he said, per Vulture.

For a five-year period, every single movie that Kevin Hart did was a movie that had been on my desk. All I had said was ‘Can we take some of this Stepin Fetchit sh*t out and then I can do it? It don’t need to be overtly homosexual ’cause I’m not homosexual.

Kevin Hart Responds To Katt Williams

While Michael Blackson and Cedric The Entertainer both addressed comments made by Williams in the interview with lengthy responses on social media, Hart decided to keep things classy and cute.

He hopped on X on Thursday (January 4) and tweeted, “Gotta get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad.

He made sure to plug his upcoming movie in the tweet, which could be interpreted as Hart seemingly letting Williams know he was still booked and busy regardless of his thoughts about him.

Hart’s response comes five years after his previous feud with Williams which stemmed over the latter calling out Tiffany Haddish.

During an appearance on ‘Frank and Wanda In the Morning’ in 2018, Katt shared his brutally honest thoughts about Haddish.

He asserted that she “has not proven her ability to tell jokes.”

Kevin Hart And Katt Williams Have Been At Odds For Years

Williams specifically criticized people for praising the ‘Bad Trip’ actress. Despite her status as one of the most sought-after female comedians at the time, Williams believed she had not achieved anything in her career that warranted such success.

[Haddish has] been doing comedy since she was 16. You can’t tell me your favorite Tiffany Haddish joke. Why? Because she ain’t done a tour yet,” he told the radio station, per Complex.

She ain’t done a special. She has not proven the ability to tell jokes, back to back for an hour,” he said (6:28). “[…] They all ready to down Mo’Nique and up somebody who has showed them Girls Trip. Did you think she wrote Girls Trip, goofball?

Contrasting his short response to Williams regarding his recent interview, Hart spent 10 minutes on ‘The Breakfast Club’ discussing his disapproval of the hatred targeted at Haddish.

My frustrations with Katt Williams come from, you keep pointing at Hollywood. Hollywood this. The white man,” he expressed. “This, this, and this. When do you take responsibility for your actions?

“You had the shot!” Hart said passionately while defending Haddish. “You were the guy! You were set up to be the star. You didn’t show up to work! You f—– off promo shoots! You f—– off your promo trips. You became a risk to the studios, which is why the studios stopped f—- with you.”
