Whew! Looks like boxing greatness might just run in the family! Little KJ is already turning heads in the ring, and with grandpa Floyd Mayweathers legendary legacy behind him, fans are buzzing that he might be following in those famous footsteps. Over the weekend, Melissia Rene gave everyone a peek at their grandson showing off his skills. And lets just say, the hype is real.
In the adorable clip, KJ is seen rocking a T-shirt, basketball shorts, dark Adidas sneakers paired with white socks, and his hair pulled up into a bun. The young champ had his gloves on and was getting straight to it, throwing punches at what appeared to be a trainer kneeling in front of him and catching every hit.
Additionally, the setting looked like Floyd Mayweathers personal training space, with The Money Team banners seen hanging across the gym a nod to Floyds iconic brand and legacy in boxing. The video even featured text that read, WHEN PAPA TRAINS KJ TRAINS along with a red heart, happy tears emoji, and a boxing glove emoji making it clear that boxing is truly a family affair. If this is any indication, KJ is already getting an early start under the watchful eye of his famous granddad. Period!
It didnt take long before folks jumped straight into The Shade Room Teens’ Instagram comment section. Some Roomies were already crowning KJ as a future GOAT, saying hes clearly on the path to greatness. While a few others joked that they already know they dont want any smoke with him. And of course, you already know several commenters laughed that its time to start putting their parlays together now cause baby, they see the legacy in the making!
This Instagram user @_bewjiii said, “Hes gnna get passed on that torch its in his blood fr …hes gnna be unstoppable ”
One Instagram user @_un_known.e joked, “Lemme put my parlay together rn”
And, Instagram user @2kmuchpressure shared, “The grandads squabble n the dads attitude bro gone b a reaaaal big problem ”
Then Instagram user @geminigod__ added, “Oh he definitely gonna be a goat one day for sure“
While Instagram user @deluxegraphicsllc wrote, “Those kids in his pre k class better watch out lol ”
Finally, Instagram user @shays111213 commented, “I dont even wanna fight him ”
Back in January, Yaya Mayweather took to X to share some real talk about her son, KJ. I be feeling bad for my baby because the kids he be around dont understand him, she wrote. He likes roughhousing and the kids he be around dont be with that s**t he need to be around his kind or around some kids thats a little bit older. Clearly, Yaya is all about making sure KJ gets the right kind of playmates who match his energy and spirit.
Her post came roughly a week after KJ celebrated his fifth birthday in true superstar fashion. As previously reported, the basketball-themed party went down at a Shoot 360 club, with grandparents Floyd Mayweather and Melissa Rene on deck to celebrate the little champs big day. Furthermore, they proved that even from the start, KJs life is all about family, fun, and a little competitive edge.
