The NBA Postpones The Lakes VS Clippers Game, Following The Passing Of Kobe Bryant

The National BasketBall Association has released a statement stating that the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Clippers game, which was scheduled for Tuesday, Jan 28, at the Staples Center has been postponed.

According to the official press release, “The decision was made out of respect for the Lakers Organization, which is deeply grieving the tragic loss of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven other people in a helicopter crash on Sunday,” the statement read. It continues to read, “The game will be rescheduled at a later date.

According to TMZ, many of the players, staffers, and other Lakers employees are ‘simply inconsolable’.  It’s also being reported that a total of sixteen teams played on Sunday following the news of the legend’s untimely passing. Many of the athletes were seen noticeably shaken, following the news, including Tyson Chandler, Trae Young and Kyle Lowry.

LeBron James was spotted expressing his grief, after leaving the Lakers’ team plane. This was only hours after surpassing Kobe Bryant as the third All-Time Scorer on the NBA List.

In a 2018 resurfaced interview with Alex Rodriguez for ‘The Corp With A-Rod and Big Cat,’ the Lakers’ legend stated he first started taking helicopters, in order to spend more time with his kids.

He stated, “Traffic started getting really, really, really bad. I was sitting in traffic and I wound up missing a school play because I was sitting in traffic. These things just kept mounting and I had to figure out a way where I can still train And focus on the craft but still not compromise family time. So that’s when I started looking into helicopters and to be able to get down and back in fifteen minutes. That’s when it started.”

Kobe Bryant was a loving father who was a part of the Lakers franchise for twenty years. He, along with his daughter and seven other individuals tragically lost their lives, in a helicopter crash, Sunday, January 26. He will truly be missed.

Thankfully the game is postponed and the men have a chance to regroup.
