Kodak Black is giving back in a major way as he has offered to foot the bill for the funeral of Denver’s STEM School Highlands Ranch. Most of you know about the recent school shooting that left 8 injured. 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo threw himself at one of the shooters, giving his classmates time to get away, thus earning his title of hero.

Kodak’s lawyer sent a message to the Castillo family to send condolences and asking for Kodak’s permission to proceed with the donation.

“First let me tell you words cannot describe my sorrow for your situation. You raised an amazing young man that did an amazing thing,” the message reads. “I know that those words cannot provide as much comfort as you and your wife deserve. I have a client that wished me to reach out and extend an offer for him to pay for any and all funeral expenses, as well as establish a scholarship in his name. Your son truly represents the inherent good in people. Again, I am sorry for your loss.”

We hear that Kodak also wants to put $10k into an annual scholarship in Castillo’s name that he reportedly plans to use to fund “a student going to college wanting to study in the science and engineering areas.”

The last we checked, Kendrick’s family hasn’t accepted the offer yet but Kodak reportedly understands that the family is still grieving and will be ready to talk with them if/when they are ready.

Roommates, let’s remember to keep Kendrick’s family in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
