Kyrie Irving Expresses Dislike Of Nike ‘Kyrie 8’ Sneaker After Leaked Photos Surface: “These Are Trash”

When it comes to sneakers, everyone has their opinion of what they like when they’re about to make a purchase. Some of the determining factors on deciding if the sneaker will work for you are the color, price, and design. Especially if it’s a sneaker that’s high in demand, you have to make sure it is right!  NBA Ballers #MichaelJordan, #LeBronJames, #KevinDurant, and Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving have all had great sneaker collaborations. Kyrie, who collaborates with Nike for his “Kyrie 4,5,6 &7’s” shoes knows how important a design is and recently spoke out about his upcoming Kyrie 8’s after pictures were leaked online.

Fan page @k11kicks shared leaked photos of the upcoming Kyrie 8 sneaker showing off the color wave and the material and asked everyone their opinions about the shoe. One day later, Kyrie left a comment explaining his dislike of the design. He commented,  “I have nothing to do with the design or marketing of the upcoming #Kyrie8, IMO these are trash! I have absolutely nothing to do with them!” He continued, “Nike plans to release it without my okay regardless of what I say, so I apologize in advance to all of my sneakerheads and true supporters of the #KAI11 brand.”

Fans of Kyrie took to the comment section to also share their dislike of the sneakers. One commented, “They really can’t be serious. Do they look like some low-budget shoes from Kmart and the colorway? These look like straight invitation shoes straight from China. Hell no.” According to Forbes, his support for Kyrie’s shoes from his fans has been in full effect since the launch of his sneakers nearly 5 years ago. The point guard’s shoes have been named as one of the NBA’s best sellers. In 2019 he brought in $11 million in sales.
