Lamar Jackson’s New Accolade Was Revealed On Thursday

Sports journalist Adam Schefter acknowledged the exciting news about the 26-year-old footballer on Thursday.

On Twitter, Schefter shared that the Ravens agreed to a “five-year deal [that] is worth $260 million.” This also includes $185 million in fully-guaranteed funds.

As a result, it was noted, “On an average per year basis, it makes Jackson the NFL’s new highest-paid player.”

This feat was also acknowledged by the NFL, which noted that Lamar Jackson would be raking in $52M annually.

The 26-Year-Old Is Ready For The $260M Journey: “Let’s Get It”

In response to this game-changing news, the Ravens shared a video of Lamar acknowledging the accomplishment.

He started by addressing how “the last few months” have been veiled in uncertainty. However, he’s ready for all the “flock” that’s going to be going on over the “next five years.”

“You know, for the last few months, there’s been a lot of ‘he’s said, she’s said.’ A lot of nail-biting, a lot of head-scratching going on, but for the next five years, it’s a lot of flock going on. Let’s go, baby. Let’s go. Let’s go, man.”

He continued, noting that he “can’t wait” to put in more work with the Ravens. With such a big bag coming his way, we’d be hyped, too!

“Can’t wait to get there. Can’t wait to be there. Can’t wait to light up M&T [Bank Stadium] for the next five years, man. Let’s get it.”

Lamar Jackson Acknowledged His Mother Amid The Accomplishment

Over on Instagram, Jackson went on to proclaim, “And We not done making them Hate.” PERIOD!

Additionally, Jackson quote tweeted a video clip of his mother — Felicia Jones — receiving her flowers, as she “got the job done” despite some critics saying that he “needs a ‘real’ agent.”

Lamar Jackson Just Claimed Jalen Hurts’ Title Of “Highest-Paid NFL Player”

Of course, we should point out that this feat comes on the heels of Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts securing a jaw-dropping deal as well, as reported by The Shade Room last week.

The 24-year-old inked a 5-year contract extension worth $255M earlier this month.

At the time, this made Jalen the highest-paid NFL player, though Lamar has swiftly claimed this title for himself!

Shoutout to Lamar Jackson, and we wish him the best as his football career continues to flourish!
