LaMelo Ball’s name is being mentioned in connection with a legal incident he’s seemingly not involved in! Recently, his child’s mother, Ana Montana, got into some trouble with the law over an alleged prescription situation.
After reports of her recent arrest made their rounds online, Montana took to her Instagram Story to thank those who have supported her, writing, The love, encouragement, and support Ive received from my friends, family, and online community have meant more to me than I can express. She explained that because the situation is now a legal matter, shes limited in what she can share publicly, while adding that some media coverage does not reflect the full context or circumstances of her experience. Montana said shes allowing the legal process to play out and respectfully asked for privacy.
The model also opened up about her personal struggles with anxiety, saying, Ive struggled with anxiety for years and have tried to navigate it privately. For now, she says her focus is on my baby, my family, my faith, and protecting the peace, while continuing her nonprofit work advocating for women navigating IVF and fertility journeys. Montana closed her message by thanking everyone who has shown her compassion and support, saying shes choosing to move forward with faith, family, and purpose.
The model, whose real name is Analicia Chaves, was arrested Monday in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, according to booking records. Montana is facing multiple charges related to an alleged prescription incident involving a controlled substance.
According to the arrest warrant, Montana allegedly obtained alprazolam, the generic form of Xanax, from Walgreens using prescriptions that authorities say were written with a doctors allegedly stolen DEA registration and medical provider identification number. In addition, the alleged conduct dates back to February 21, while the warrant was issued on September 22, six days before her arrest.
As a result, Montana is facing two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery. She also faces two misdemeanor counts of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. She was initially held on a $20,000 bond in connection with the felony charges.
Her attorney is also speaking out about the circumstances surrounding the case. According to a statement provided to TMZ, the charges allege that a doctor using a fraudulent DEA registration and NPI number prescribed alprazolam for Montana. Her attorney maintains that she used the prescription written by that doctor to obtain the medication from a pharmacy. Also, he claims that the possession charges appear to stem from her having the medication after picking it up.
Moreover, Montana shares a son, LaOne, with LaMelo Ball. The pair welcomed their baby boy in January 2026 and publicly revealed his birth on Mother’s Day in May. And, Ball was traded from the Charlotte Hornets to the Minnesota Timberwolves in June.
At this time, the allegations against Montana remain just that allegations. Furthermore, she has not been convicted of the charges. Additionally, the case will now play out in court as more details come to light.
