Lil Mama Critiques Black Women Tapping Into Their Sexy Side On Social Media

Lil Mama dropped a message from her heart to her personal Instagram on Sunday. The artist decided to comment on women tapping into their sexy side for the ‘gram — and other social platforms. But her post didn’t speak on women in general, Lil Mama actually singled out Black women.

“It’s so many Black women bent over on social media you would think that sh*t was a mass mandate,” Lil Mama wrote.

She added a face palm emoticon for extra emphasis on her disappointment in the social media behavior. Mama decided to zero in on the lack of regular activities versus the hefty amount of “body looking goodT” posts.

“I get it, you “grown” …EVERYDAY tho? What day are you classy,” she questioned. “Just hanging out with the family? Actually working out?”

She went on to say seeing Black women tapping into this sexy so often is “embarrassing” to her.

Lil Mama’s Scandal Forgiven

Her distaste for women doing it for social media comes just weeks after receiving forgiveness for one of the longest-lasting embarrassing moments in music history. As you already know, Lil Mama made a surprise appearance during Alicia Keys’ and Jay-Z’s 2009 VMA performance. Near the end of their song ‘Empire State of Mind,’ Lil Mama hopped on stage, bopping her head and posing next to Jay-Z. The moment slipped into the spotlight once again as Alicia did promo for her latest album near the end of 2021.

When Jay-Z joined a Twitter Spaces conversation with Alicia, folks didn’t miss the opportunity to ask if he’s forgiven her 2009 behavior.

“Of course, of course. C’mon. Don’t do that… That’s our sister,” Jay-Z responded. “Man, we love her. I wouldn’t recommend people just jumping on other artists’ stages…”

He continued on to say, “She’s a New Yorker, she got excited. Things happen…of course, we love her. Yes, she’s forgiven. It’s all love and she was coming from a place of love it’s just… may have been a little too excited.”

Lil Mama later caught wind of the conversation. She expressed her gratitude to both artists.

I appreciate hearing this portion of last night’s conversation. This has always been my stance, Love. Love for both my big brother, big sister, and my city,” Lil Mama said. “It brings clarity to all of us as a community to actually hear these words from our legendary leaders.”
